Chronicling the adventures of the B's

It's a….

by Dave

BOY!!! The B’s now have a boy to go with my brother’s girl. The ultrasound went well; the baby looked good. According to the ultrasound measurements, the computer calculated a new due date of November 12. I’m not sure if one date is more accurate than other (11/20 was the initial due date), or if it’s more of a ballpark type of thing. Either way, it’s going to be very close to hunting season (Nov. 8-16). Below are a couple of the ultrasound pics. Click the images for high-res versions.

We’re thinking about copying our friends Gary and Heidi by giving the baby a womb name (theirs was Bob). The current plan is to keep the baby’s real name a secret until he’s born. We’ll try to have a name picked out, but it won’t really be finalized until we see the kid. I know a lot of people that have changed their minds after seeing their baby for the first time. That said, any suggestions for a womb name?

Week 20

by Dave

Here’s week 20!! Half-way done and half-way to go. :) Dave felt the baby move quite a bit this week, he was pretty stoked. While watching the fireworks on Friday the baby was moving and kicking the entire time, Dave felt lots of bumps and pokes. It was really cool. Tomorrow is the big day!!! We are having our first ultrasound, we will get to see our baby and hopefully find out if we are having a boy or girl. Be sure to check back tomorrow for more details and pictures of our baby!

The Joker

by Dave

I was pleasantly surprised this morning when a toy came out of the cereal box and landed in my bowl. I always loved digging through the cereal to find the free toys when I was a kid. After opening it, however, I was not so enthusiastic. The toy (a two inch tall figure of the Joker from the new Batman flick) is possibly the creepiest looking toy I’ve ever seen.

Week 19.5

by Dave

Well, there isn’t much of a difference from last week to this week, at least I don’t think so. Yesterday I went to a demo derby in Clear Lake and each time the cars took off the loud noise would cause the baby to jump, it was kinda fun. Tonight at Dave’s softball game each time Dave was up to bat the baby would start moving and thumping around, apparently he/she could sense me cheering for daddy and wanted to join in the fun. It was so precious!!

My super cute outfit is from my sister, Brianna. Mom and Brianna went shopping for maternity clothes for me last week, I now have several cute outfits to wear. Thanks Mom!!! Thanks Brianna!!!

Week 18 and 5 days :)

by Dave

Here is week 18 and 5 days. We were very slow in getting this picture taken, almost missed it. I enjoy being able to feel the baby moving around in belly – makes me feel like I have a reason to be fat. :) Dave is REALLY excited about the day when he can actually feel the baby move. Often times he will put his hand on my belly and ask the baby to move for him, the baby does but he can’t feel it yet. Hopefully it will be very soon.
