An Interesting Occurrence

by Dave

About a year or two ago I stumbled across this video:

I was intrigued and checked out some of their stuff. They have a lot of interesting music available. They apparently have a hookup of some sort with Electro-Harmonix, too, because they’ve done quite a few demo videos for their pedals.

I just saw a car commercial featuring the musical duo. They are called Pomplamoose. It was one of those strange moments when you see something that you think is somewhat unique in an unanticipated place. I have no idea what their play count was when I originally viewed the above video, but it’s now near two million. Apparently I’m not the only person who happened upon their music. Still, it’s a strange feeling.

Eli Shares with Noah

by Dave

This was one of the first interactions Eli had with Noah yesterday. Later in the evening Eli was sitting in the rocking chair and held both arms out because he wanted to hold Noah; he did a very good job of holding him and being gentle.

Eli in December

by Dave

December was a fun month for us. Probably the most exciting thing was Eli learning to walk. Here’s a look at what he’s been up to this month.

In creating this video I learned something interesting about YouTube; they apparently have audio detection software that compares the audio of an uploaded video to known items. I had several songs playing sequentially in the background of the video (the first three tracks from the same album). I received an email from YouTube saying the audio portion of my video had been disabled because it “may have content that is owned or licensed by WMG.” I swapped out the old audio for a different song.

I find it very interesting that YouTube would censor videos that way, especially considering their use of the word “may.” I wonder if they are required to do so, or if that is a service they sell to companies, such as WMG, to help them protect their copyrights.

Eli in November

I was feeling inspired by the clips I put together awhile ago and decided I’d showcase Eli’s videos each month. Here’s what he’s been up to the last month.
