Christmas Letter

by Dave

We have created a new page for our Christmas letter. The tab for the letter is located on the top right of the page, look for Christmas 2008. Enjoy!!

Latest Eli update…we went to the doctor twice this week, once for his one month check up, Dr. Gurney, and a second time to see his cardiologist, Dr. Rios. He was given a clean bill of health at both appointments. Dr. Rios was so pleased to see how well he is doing. Eli is eating well and gaining weight. According to their scale he weighed 8lbs. 13 oz. and was 21 1/2 inches long. His incision looks wonderful and is healing very nicely. We go back to both Dr. Gurney and Dr. Rios in one month. Eli is also nursing, with a bit of assistance (nipple shield) and is doing quite well with it.

Weight

by Dave

I forgot to mention earlier that we weighed Eli the other day on our postal scale. He weighed in at 8 lbs 9 oz. Our curiosity was piqued again tonight, so we weighed him: 9 lbs 1 oz. He’s gaining well.

More New Pictures

Our web-host has been down a lot this weekend (it seems to be a frequent problem these days). I can’t say that I’d ever recommend our host, VistaPages. If it was just our blog it wouldn’t be as big of a deal, but our email addresses run through them as well.

Internet rage aside, we’ve had a nice weekend. Some out of town friends came to visit and we had a good time. Megan caught me multi-tasking when we went out for dinner. She told me to smile, but I thought that might be a bit too predictable.

We also got a couple shots recently of him sleeping. He’s really taken to flopping his arms out.

All you picture fanatics out there will appreciate the new photos added to the site. We’ll try to keep them coming.

Eli is home!!!

by Dave

It’s official, Eli Mathias came home today at 12:30pm. We are so excited to have him home! He has been given the grand tour, eaten several times, had his diaper changed several times and is now sleeping. It was such a wonderful feeling to be able to leave the hospital and have Eli with us. We praise God for everything He has done for our little man. Thank you so much for those who have been praying for Eli and for us, we truly appreciate everything. We love you all!!!

P.S. The scratches on his face are from when he attacked himself last night while eating. He needs his fingernails clipped.
