Another One Bites the Dust

by Dave

We were presented with an ultimatum last night by the bank on the house we were looking to buy: say yes at their price or they’ll make the same offer to the other buyer in line. We told them to keep their house. The search continues.

Disappointment Sets In

by Dave

What a drag. The person our realtor has been in contact with at the listing agency is bordering on incompetence. Colin (our realtor) made a point of asking whether our offer had just been forwarded to the bank or if it had been accepted completely with no counter-offer from the bank. She said it was accepted with no counter.

Well, Colin called them again to get things started and the woman he’s been speaking to told him she had made a mistake; the bank actually had countered our offer. They want $8500 more than we offered. We’re willing to give a little, but not that much. We have a lot of time and we’re just coming into prime house-listing season. Plus, I’d hate to think that the people that are jerking us around at the listing agency are profiting from their stupidity.

We’re going to up our offer slightly. If they don’t bite, we’ll walk. We’ll see what happens.

We Have a House! (sort of)

by Dave

Despite some troubles with the listing agent and the possibility of being in a multi-offer situation, everything sorted out and the bank accepted our offer on a house. We’re very excited. The next step is getting the place inspected and getting our financing rolling. Praise God for working things out when they seemed to be getting dicier by the minute. We’ll keep ya posted on how the rest of the process goes.

2nd Surgery…

by Dave

Eli’s second heart surgery is scheduled for Monday, April 6th. We would greatly appreciate it if everyone could lift Eli up in prayer. Please continue to pray for complete healing of his heart so there may be no more surgeries. Please pray for peace for our family and that our faith in God will never waver. Thanks!!

Dude, Where's My Car?

by Dave

So I’m walking out of Walmart yesterday and I see this woman halfway down the aisle in the parking lot, looking for her car. As I’m just about to walk past her, she hits the clicker on her keys to help locate her car. To my surprise, the car she’s standing three feet away from beeps and unlocks. The best part is she was looking right over the car into the next aisle. When the car beeped, she jumped a bit and looked down in surprise to find she was standing right next to it. Well done.
