Another Good Day

by Dave

Eli was, once again, very well-behaved today (from both a behavioral and a medical standpoint). We were able to coax a few smiles out him this morning, and I’m told by Megan he was pretty active this evening when she went to visit. I am back at work this week, so my visits are limited to mornings for the time being. Here’s pretty much what I saw this morning.

I love watching his little tongue through the pacifier; it’s very entertaining. You’ll notice the IV is back in his scalp. One of the arm IV’s was getting irritated, so they put one back on his little noggin.

This One Has Sound (Sort Of)

Eli was very lively today. He was looking around and making a lot of great faces on several occasions. I managed to grab my trusty, old digital camera and get a bit of video of some of it. I even put a little voiceover at the beginning.

A Good Day

by Dave

We had a good day, today. We arrived at the hospital mid-morning and hung out with Eli for awhile. Later, some friends from church (the Hales, if you’re curious) had lunch with us in the cafeteria. We had planned on going home between lunch and dinner to do a bit of cleaning, but the afternoon flew by as we were able to hold him for over four hours between the two of us.

Some friends from Megan’s college days (the Ellsworths, if you must know) were in town and stopped by to meet the boy and say hello. We then went to dinner with a whole bunch of friends (the Carlsons, Hintzes and Ellsworths) at Old Chicago. I love their calzones. After dinner we went back to the hospital, gathered our things and said goodnight to Eli. He was happily sleeping when we got there and the nurses said he had been very quiet and well-behaved. We look forward to seeing him again tomorrow.

Video Test

by Dave

I took some video using our digital camera. Since the thing is about a hundred years old (in digital camera years), the video is a bit low quality and there’s no audio. Enjoy.

Know Your Audience

Updates are all well and good, but I know what keeps the people coming back: pictures. We added some new ones today to Eli’s photo album. Here’s one from tonight. He was making a lot of noise sucking that pacifier.
