The Burlingames

Chronicling the adventures of the B's

Heartbeat

by Dave

Megan had her first OB appointment today. She was able to hear the baby’s heartbeat. I was, unfortunately, at work. She was told that at 20 weeks we’ll have her first ultrasound and be able to find out the sex of the baby. Megan said hearing the heartbeat made it seem so much more real.

It's Alive! It's Alive!

by Dave

Finally, after much aggravation, my new MacBook is alive and well (and also running Windows XP). I was having an issue with my Boot Camp partition not showing up during the Windows install. Turns out my XP disc was too old and didn’t include SP2. Thanks to the instructions on this site, I was able to slipstream it. The install went perfectly after that. Hooray for my new Mac. I loves it.

The Burlingame's Are Multiplying!

by Dave

The site will need some modification about seven months from now.

For those that haven’t already heard through various channels, Megan is pregnant! We’re very excited about the pending arrival of our first child. The projected due date is November 20, but that may change depending on what she learns at her OB appointment this week. I’ll keep ya posted.

Apartment Upgrades

by Dave

The patio door in our apartment is being replaced as I type this. Finally, no more cold air blowing through the cracks at the base of the door. Last week they replaced our bedroom window and put up new blinds. It looks much nicer with the vertical blinds rather than the roll-up shades we used to have. The only downer is the cleanup; construction is always a little messy. It’s definitely worth the hassle, though.

Daa Wild

by Dave

I’ve just returned from a night of screaming at the projection screens at B-dubs, cheering on the Wild. Playoffs are a glorious thing, especially when the home team wins. It took some overtime heroics to even the series tonight (no thanks to the refs who tried their best to give the game to the Avs). Hopefully they continue to play great hockey now that the series moves to Denver.
