Today's Idiot Report

by Dave

I’ve been back at work since Wednesday of last week. My ankle was a bit sketchy last week, but has been improving by leaps and bounds this week. Praise God for good progress.

I was sitting at a light today in the right-turn lane behind another car, waiting for my turn to go. Suddenly, a motorcycle passed me (and the next car) on the right. There was no gap in the traffic, but he pulled out and turned right anyway, racing up the shoulder until he matched speeds with the cars next to him. He cut in front of one car, causing them to brake, and then cut into the next lane as well.

After he had gone, I looked to see how much space I had left between the curb and my truck. The side was only about 2 feet from the curb. I don’t know how he made it through without rubbing the curb and eating it. What a moron. Perhaps even more amazing is that the guy wasn’t some young punk on a crotchrocket, but an old, ZZ Top-looking guy on a medium-size cruiser.

Week 28

by Dave

Wowza!!! Where has the summer gone?!?! When school was let out for the summer I was only 4 months pregnant and now summer is almost over and I’m 7 months pregnant. Wowza!! Summer certainly flown by this year. We definitely kept busy with various activities – work, camping trips, softball, weddings and other traveling events. Here is my week 28 picture, enjoy!

Week 27.5

by Dave

Here is week 27.5. I’m getting bigger!!! That shouldn’t be any surprise. Baby Rupert is moving around more and more every day. Sometimes the movements tickle or cause me to laugh out loud whereI am at. It is getting harder and harder to move around, get up, shift, etc. and it is only going to get harder.

Ankle Update

by Dave

I went to the doc again today and they changed my standard ankle sprain to a high ankle sprain. The downer is they tend to take longer to heal. The good thing is the doc set me up with some physical therapy to help me get back to work sooner. Hopefully the exercises help me get back to it.

My Amazing Husband…

by Dave

Today marks our fourth anniversary of being married. I feel so blessed to be married to such a wonderful man (yes we have had our ups and downs and will continue to do so), but he is still a wonderful man. Currently my favorite part of the day with Dave is at the end of the day, laying in bed together and praying for our son. Rupert apparently likes this part of the day as well, he moves and responds to our touch A LOT! Dave has shown me and taught me over the years how to grow in my faith. He has been my spiritual leader and mentor, I know he will continue lead and guide me in the years to come. I love how Dave makes me laugh and feel good about myself. He is constantly encouraging me in areas where I’m lack confidence in myself. Dave takes care of me when I’m sick and tells me to ‘get over it’ when I’m crabby. :) He has such a servant heart when it comes to taking care of me and loving me. Each day I’m in complete awe of God’s amazing works in our lives. I’m especially in awe of His divine hand in our marriage, I feel so lucky to be married to Dave – it makes my heart smile. Honey, I love you with all my heart and I’m so thankful for you.

My true love, David John Burlingame.
