8:40am Update
by Dave
Surgery is started. Everything is going well.
Eli is out of our hands. The surgery is scheduled to be about three hours once they get him sedated. They’ll let us know when surgery actually starts.
We’re up way too early. It’s almost 5am. We’ve already eaten and showered and will be on our way to the hospital shortly. Surgery is scheduled to start at 7:30, but we need to be there at six. We’ll be posting updates here as we get them throughout the day. Thank you for your prayers.
I finally took a few minutes to update Eli’s photo album. Our baby boy is growing so big!!! Enjoy!
Eli had a heart catheter procedure yesterday at Children’s Minneapolis. They put a catheter in his groin area and snaked it up into his heart. The purpose was to take various measurements in preparation for his next surgery.
He did very well and came home last night around six. The hardest part was the fact that he couldn’t eat, starting at 5:30 am, until the procedure was done. He woke up from the anesthesia shortly after one and had his first food in almost eight hours. Poor little guy.
